We are looking forward to the start of this next legislative session that will be starting soon. We have been working to get multiple bills submitted by the Dec 8th deadline, including
the Anti Profiling bill which right now has three sponsors Sen Nathan Dahm, Sen Chuck Hall and Rep Ken Luttrell.
the right of way bill which would increase the penalty for injuring or killing a motorcyclist which is being sponsored by Rep. Andy Fugate.
the lane filtering bill which is being sponsored by Rep Jon Echols.
Now just to give you an idea there are 48 Senators and 101 members of the House of Representatives and we have 5 that have agreed to sponsor bills for us. that leaves a huge amount of people that still need to be encouraged to help us out. if you have a question about who your legislators are or how to contact them you can either go to www.soonerstateabate.com/legislative-linksand click on the “FIND YOUR STATE LEGISLATORS” button in the middle of the page or you can get with me and i will work to find them.
Earlier this year, the Biden Administration rolled out plans to shift this country to a majority electric vehicle market over the next ten years. In June, Senator Markwayne Mullin of Oklahoma introduced S.2090, the “Preserving Choice in Vehicle Purchases Act.” The bill would amend the Clean Air Act to prevent a ban on the sale of internal combustion engines, effectively trumping any state law that outlaws their sale. S. 2090 is the Senate’s version of H.R. 1435, which recently passed out of the House Energy and Commerce Committee.
While the House version of the bill is moving, the Senate version of the bill still needs more cosponsors. Will you ask your two Senators to protect the internal combustion engine?
The REPAIR Act H.R. 906 ensures that vehicle owners or repair shops are not denied access to the information, software or tools needed to work on vehicles. The proposed law also establishes rules regarding vehicle data access. This commonsense law will help preserve consumer choice and a fair marketplace.
